The Trump campaign released a searing statement criticizing Vice President Kamala Harris for copying President Donald Trump’s “no tax on tips” plan.
Trump Campaign Communications Director Steven Cheung shared the strong words in the Sunday news release.
“Copy Cat Kamala is a dishonest, fraudulent failure. She won’t sit down and answer questions about why she stole President Trump’s No Tax on Tips proposal,” he wrote.
“She won’t sit down and answer questions about why she personally cast the deciding votes on trillions of dollars in corrupt and wasteful government spending that drove inflation through the roof and made basic necessities like rent, housing, gas, groceries, and utility bills too expensive for tens of millions of Americans to afford,” he continued.
Cheung also attacked Harris over additional policy changes since announcing her campaign for president.
“She won’t explain why she has inexplicably flip-flopped on fracking, taking away the rights of gun owners, and a litany of other issues,” he added.
The Trump campaign director argued that the “Obama consultants” took control of her campaign.
“The truth is, the new Obama consultants that took control of her failing campaign think Kamala is a failed leader, intellectual lightweight, and terrible candidate, surrounded by a dumb team,” he argued.
Cheung also called out Harris over refusing to hold media interviews to address her policies over the past four years.
“That’s why they won’t let her conduct sit-down interviews to answer to the American people for the economic pain she has personally inflicted on them for the last four years,” he concluded.
Trump also took to his Truth Social account to call out the new policy as “plagiarism.”
“Kamala Harris has flip-flopped on virtually every policy she has supported and lived by for her entire career, from the Border to Tips, and the Fake News Media isn’t reporting it,” Trump wrote.
“She sounds more like Trump than Trump, copying almost everything. She is conning the American public, and will flip right back. I will MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN! There will be no flipping!!!” he said.
Trump also shared a screenshot of a headline from last year that showed the Biden administration’s recent plans to crack down on tips.
