President Donald Trump congratulated Tennessee Congressman-Elect Matt Van Epps on winning the 7th Congressional District’s special election on Tuesday night.

“The Radical Left Democrats threw everything at him, including Millions of Dollars. Another great night for the Republican Party!!!” he wrote in a post on Truth Social

This defeat keeps Republicans in control of the White House, reminding Americans that Tennessee is a red state through and through. After being declared the victor, Van Epps noted in a statement published by Fox News, “This race was bigger than just one campaign. It represented a defining moment for Tennessee and for the direction of the country.”

Van Epps is a strong America First supporter. He campaigned on supporting American jobs and industries, helping President Trump enforce immigration law, and standing up for Americans’ constitutional rights. He is also a veteran who graduated from West Point and seeks to improve support for veterans.

President Trump endorsed him in October, noting on Truth Social, “He is strongly supported by my good friend, Congressman Jim Jordan, and many other highly respected MAGA Warriors!”

Van Epps thanked his constituents for this win as he now prepares to enter office.
