President Trump released a powerful video statement after becoming the 2024 presumptive presidential nominee for the Republican Party.
He called the win a “really great day of victory” that “got us over the top,” referring to the 1,215 delegates needed to clinch the nomination. After his primary victories on March 12, he blew past that number with 1,241 total delegates.
Trump said that the Republican National Committee (RNC) “declared us the official nominee” and that it was “a big deal.”
The 45th president said, “We now have to go on to victory because our country is in serious trouble.” He detailed the unfettered illegal migration at the southern border and the United States’ loss of respect across the globe.
He noted that the economy was “doing very poorly” outside of “certain little areas” and emphasized the importance of taking care of the United States military.
Trump reiterated the significance of his Super Tuesday victories and winning the Republican nomination. However, he encouraged everyone to “get back to work” to defeat Joe Biden.
Trump highlighted the immediate actions he would take upon assuming office for his second term, including increasing oil production in the United States, closing the southern border, and bringing the economy back to “the best ever in the world.”
Trump advocated for LEGAL migration and said he would reduce energy costs nationwide. He vowed that the United States would stop begging other countries for energy and return to being “energy independent.”
Trump pointedly remarked, “We’re not going to take time to celebrate, we’ll celebrate in eight months when the election is over.”
Trump urged everyone to start thinking about the November election. “This vote is going to be the most important vote you’ve ever cast,” he argued before thanking his supporters for a successful primary election season.
He concluded by calling for action “to get to work to beat Joe Biden, the worst administration, the worst president, in the history of our country.”
