President Trump has expressed his support for Tennessee Governor Bill Lee’s proposed school voucher bill.

In a Truth Social post on Tuesday, President Trump congratulated the Tennessee legislature for working on a policy area that closely aligns with his administration’s education agenda.

“Congratulations to Tennessee legislators who are working hard to pass School Choice this week, which I totally support.” President Trump said. He continued by emphasizing his support for this type of program and connecting it with the overarching plans of his administration to prioritize giving states more control over education.

“We will very soon be sending Education BACK TO THE STATES, where it belongs. It is our goal to bring Education in the United States to the highest level, one that it has never attained before. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”

The bill set for consideration by the Tennessee legislature would provide parents with taxpayer funds to go towards tuition for private schools.

The bill also establishes scholarships and provides for half of the scholarship funds to go toward low-income families and children with disabilities.

Governor Lee thanked President Trump for his support in a response post on X, promising Tennessee is “ready to deliver” for parents and students.
