President Donald Trump congratulated Harriet Hageman after her historic victory over incumbent Rep. Liz Cheney in Tuesday’s Republican primary election.

According to the New York Post, Cheney was losing by about 30 percentage points when she conceded to Hageman and made her concession speech.

During her victory speech, Hageman thanked the 45th president for his endorsement and his help in defeating Cheney. “Obviously we’re all very grateful to President Trump, who recognizes that Wyoming has only one congressional representative and we have to make it count,” she said.

Trump celebrated Hageman’s resounding victory over Cheney, saying, “Congratulations to Harriet Hageman on her great and very decisive WIN in Wyoming. This is a wonderful result for America, and a complete rebuke of the Unselect Committee of political Hacks and Thugs.”

In a scathing rebuke of Cheney, Trump added, “Liz Cheney should be ashamed of herself, the way she acted, and her spiteful, sanctimonious words and actions towards others. Now she can finally disappear into the depths of political oblivion where, I am sure, she will be much happier than she is right now. Thank you WYOMING!”

Cheney’s crushing primary defeat marks one of the most significant Republican defeats of the 10 House Republicans who voted to impeach the 45th president following Jan. 6. According to Fox News, only two of those House Republicans remain on the ballot in November, with four choosing not to seek reelection and four losing to Trump-endorsed candidates.

In light of Tuesday’s “referendum” on Cheney, Trump argues that the Jan. 6 Committee should dissolve. In a post on Truth Social, he stated, “I assume that with the very big Liz Cheney loss, far bigger than had ever been anticipated, the January 6th Committee of political Hacks and Thugs will quickly begin the beautiful process of DISSOLUTION? This was a referendum on the never ending Witch Hunt. The people have spoken!”

Despite that Wyoming clearly rejected her participation in the Jan. 6 Committee and her constant attacks against Trump, Cheney used her concession speech Tuesday night to continue criticizing the 45th president.

“The path was clear, but it would have required that I go along with President Trump’s lie about the 2020 election,” she said. “It would have required that I enable his ongoing efforts to unravel our democratic system and attack the foundations of our republic. That was a path that I could not and would not take”

Trump responded to Cheney’s concession speech, claiming that it went against “massive and conclusive evidence” of the “Rigged & Stolen” election. Trump emphasized, “Liz Cheney is a fool who played right into the hands of those who want to destroy our Country!”
