As President Donald Trump continues his 2024 campaign, new polls indicate he will beat Joe Biden by double digits in the upcoming general election.
Polls released this month show Trump ahead of Biden in the Republican-led state by at least 11 to 12 points. A recent survey conducted by East Carolina University’s (ECU) Center for Survey Research on March 8-11 showed voters the likely outcome of the 2024 election, which will involve a match-up between Trump, Biden, and Independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
Out of roughly 1,298 voters, 48 percent of voters stated they would be voting for Trump, with 38 percent going to Biden, RFK Jr. at 5 percent, Green Party candidates Jill Stein and Cornel West both around 1 percent, 2 percent to other independents/minor part/write-in candidates, and 7 percent undecided, according to ECU data.
Data from the study showed that Trump was not only leading Biden among female voters in the state by six points but that the margins for Biden’s lead with black voters had begun to slip in favor of the 45th president.
According to ECU data, while Biden still leads with black voters by 75 percent to 19 percent, data from the 2020 general election shows that Biden beat Trump in the state demographic by 91 percent to 8 percent.
Data additionally showed that Biden’s lead among young voters under 30 years old also slipped from the 2020 elections by roughly 19 points, dropping from 57 percent to 38 percent to now only holding a one-point advantage over Trump at 39 percent to 38 percent, according to ECU.
Other recent data, such as Mainstreet Research, showed the former president 11 points ahead of Biden in a potential general election race. In the survey conducted on March 13, roughly 50 percent of 818 Ohio residents stated that they would be casting their vote for Trump, with only 39 percent towards Biden.
Trump’s largest lead over Biden is currently estimated to be 12 points, according to a survey conducted by the Institute for Civics and Public Policy (ICAPP) at Ohio Northern University.
In the school’s March poll, 44 percent of 1,241 likely Ohio voters stated they would vote for the former president, 32 percent for Biden, 13 percent for RFK Jr., and 11 percent undecided.
The 45th president notably won the GOP-led state during the 2020 election, beating Biden by roughly 8 points, according to Politico.
