President Trump highlighted the horrifying state of the southern border on Tuesday evening, bringing attention to the headlines that have been coming out of Eagle Pass, Texas, and beyond this week.
“Yesterday, we had the single highest border crossings ever recorded,” he said during remarks delivered in Waterloo, Iowa, for a Commit to Caucus event.
Per Fox News, CBP encountered 12,600 illegal migrants at the border on Monday, although that number did not include the migrants who have not yet been processed.
He also discussed the recent decision to suspend railway operations in Texas to accommodate the expedited processing of illegal immigrants coming over the border in the Lone Star State.
According to Fox News, they did this to move more CBP resources to assist in illegal entrants’ processing.
President Trump, like most of America, highlighted the risks with allowing unvetted illegal migrants to cross over the border in record numbers.
“How stupid are we to let this happen?” he pointed out.
The president explained in his remarks, “They’re coming from all over the world…they could be healthy, they could be very unhealthy, they could bring in disease that’s going to catch on in our country.”
He added, “They’re destroying the FABRIC of our country.”
In previous remarks in Reno, Nevada, Trump also pointed out that he believed that by the end of Biden’s first term, there could be as many as 16 million illegal migrants that have been introduced into America via the open borders.
“We have to GET THEM OUT,” he pressed.
He vowed to terminate “every open borders policy” from the Biden administration upon a prospective 2024 presidential victory and promised to “restore law and order in our communities.”
