President Donald Trump garnered impressive praise from a surprising source this week, as a mainstream journalist on a traditionally left-leaning network gave him credit for putting all of his executive efforts into delivering on campaign promises for the American people.
CNN journalist Harry Enten analyzed some of CNN’s most recent polling and surveys regarding President Trump’s first few weeks back in office, and he was impressed.
“There was this concern among some folks that Donald Trump would come in for a second term and kind of be a lame duck – he ain’t no lame duck, if anything, he’s a soaring eagle!” he remarked buoyantly.
Enten explained that Trump had issued 111 executive orders so far since taking office January 20, which is the highest numbers of EOs this early in a presidential term in a century. He also said it was the most in any single year since the 1950s, during President Harry Truman’s term.
“The bottom line is whether you like Trump or you don’t like him, you can’t say that he’s come in and not tried to deliver on what he at least believes was his promises on the campaign trail and he’s doing so in historic fashion,” he explained.
Interestingly, Enten pulled up data that showed the American people believe that Trump’s approach to the presidency in 2025 is radically different than what anyone’s ever seen before. Per the data he presented on-air, 86 percent of Americans believe Trump’s approach to presidential power is “completely different” than past presidents.
“Again, you can agree or you can disagree with Donald Trump, but what you can’t disagree with is that he’s doing things very differently,” Enten added. “I have used the Frank Sinatra quote before. He is doing it ‘my way.” And that is what Donald Trump has done throughout both of his presidential terms.”
