President Donald Trump announced on Friday that he is endorsing Tudor Dixon as the Republican candidate for Michigan’s gubernatorial race.
The businesswoman has been a serious critic of Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, D-Mich., and the Biden administration for their coronavirus lockdown practices.
“We will never forget what Gretchen Whitmer did when she put Covid patients in nursing homes,” Dixon tweeted. The issue is personal to the self-described “granddaughter of a Whitmer nursing home victim.” In a vow to Michigan voters, Dixon promises to hold Whitmer “accountable” if elected.
Enthusiastically, “Tudor Dixon is a conservative warrior who built an impressive career in the steel industry,” stated Trump. According to the 45th president, Dixon has “something special” about her. A “quality that few others have,” added Trump.
Conversely, Gov. Whitmer is “the queen of lockdowns (except for her husband), school closures, and a suffering economy that’s not just hurting Michigan, but the entire country,” said Trump.
Consequently, the “Great State of Michigan is being destroyed by the Radical Left Democrats.” However, the mother of four stands ready to “save Michigan.” Unashamedly, Dixon is “pro-God, pro-gun, and pro-freedom.” The former conservative television commentator is not afraid to “stand up to the Radical Left as they try to indoctrinate our children and is ready to take on one of the worst governors in the nation.”
Dixon is one of five candidates competing to become the Republican nominee in the Tuesday race. Nevertheless, she is likely the favorite to win now that she is a card-carrying Trump-endorsed candidate. In July, Trump boasted a 132-7 record for endorsed candidates nationwide. The leader of the Republican Party is using his seal of approval to clear the field as he stages an America First comeback for the midterm elections.
