President Donald Trump has garnered another Nobel Peace Prize nomination for his historic accomplishments in securing peace in the Middle East during his term in the White House, multiple outlets have reported.
The president’s unprecedented peace efforts in the Middle East culminated in 2020 with the Abraham Accords, which solidified a diplomatic treaty between the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, and Israel.
Now, New York Rep. Claudia Tenney (R) has put forth Trump’s name for consideration for the Nobel Peace Prize, marking the fourth time the 45th president has been suggested as a contender for the prestigious award, via Newsweek.
She explained, “The valiant efforts by President Trump in creating the Abraham Accords were unprecedented and continue to go unrecognized by the Nobel Peace Prize Committee, underscoring the need for his nomination today.”
This newest suggestion comes amid the chaos that has erupted in the Middle East under Joe Biden. War has sprung forth between Israel and Hamas, and most recently, three U.S. servicemembers were slain in a drone attack on a military installation in Jordan, spurring rumblings of further potential conflict.
Under President Trump, there were no new conflicts in the Middle East, and it is this stark observation that spurred three previous Nobel Peace Prize suggestions, as well.
According to The Hill, a third nomination was issued in September 2020 by several Australian law professors after the Abraham Accords were brokered.
Prior to that nomination, Trump was nominated by a member of both the Swedish and Norwegian Parliament, the outlet stated.
In the wake of the tragic drone strike in Jordan that claimed the lives of three U.S. servicemembers and injured more than 40 more, President Trump offered his condolences and sympathies to the families of the fallen warriors, calling for a return to “PEACE THROUGH STRENGTH.”
He wrote, “This terrible day is yet more proof that we need an immediate return to PEACE THROUGH STRENGTH, so that there will be no more chaos, no more destruction, and no more loss of precious American lives. Our Country cannot survive with Joe Biden as Commander in Chief.”
