It could be a very big year for President Donald Trump if recent polling data offers even a small shadow of the support that has blossomed nationwide for his 2024 reelection campaign.
Despite relentless lawfare and minimal campaigning, President Trump holds a lead over Joe Biden in critical battleground states across the board headed into November’s important general election.
According to polling averages from FiveThirtyEight, Trump is ahead in seven key states in America with just six months to go until Election Day. Per their data, Trump is leading in Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Arizona, Nevada, Georgia, and North Carolina.
Overall market odds from Polymarket have inexplicably forecasted Trump and Biden at 45 percent each, but their map also projected that Arizona could lean blue, along with Nevada.
However, a recent Emerson College/The Hill poll found that Trump was leading Biden by five full points in both Arizona and Nevada.
Nevada’s voting history in general and state elections has been slightly erratic. Votes have bounced back and forth between Democrat and Republican governors and pinged electoral college votes back and forth in general presidential elections between the two parties since 1976.
Currently, Nevada has a Republican governor (Joe Lombardo) who strongly endorsed President Trump in January.
Arizona’s sitting governor is Democrat Katie Hobbs, the former Arizona Secretary of State who ran against Republican and former news anchor Kari Lake in 2022. In the Grand Canyon State, Lake is now running for the state U.S. Senate seat against Democrat Ruben Gallego.
Republican candidate Abe Hamadeh is also running for Congress in Arizona, vying for a seat against GOP opponent Blake Masters, who formerly ran for Senate in 2022. Hamadeh formerly ran for attorney general in Arizona during the state’s midterm elections.
