President Donald J. Trump urged Ohio voters Monday to get out and vote for Senate candidate J.D. Vance, stating that the Republican will “fight for Ohio with every bone in his body.”
While speaking at a Save America rally in Vandalia, Ohio, Trump charged that Vance’s opponent, Democrat Rep. Tim Ryan, has been pretending to be more conservative than he really is.
“Ryan pretends to be a moderate, pretends to be almost a Trump supporter,” Trump noted, “but he’s voted with Crazy Nancy Pelosi 100 percent of the time over the last two years – 100 percent. And then he tries to say he’s with me. He’s not with me.”
He continued: “But just 24 hours from now, Tim Ryan is going to be out of a job, JD Vance is going to be on his way to the United States Senate, and JD is a really good man.”
In his remarks, Trump noted that Vance has not always been one of his supporters, but said that over the past few years, their relationship has changed.
“I met with him, and I’ll tell you what, he get’s it,” the president revealed. “He’s smart, he’s tough, and he was right about a lot of things.”
Vance, appealing to the voters, vowed to be a man of action in the Senate rather than one of empty words.
“The simple thing here is we need senators who are fighters and senators who are doers,” he said. “No more talking about Big Tech, no more talking about the border, we need people who are going to fight for the issues and actually get something done for the people of Ohio. That’s what I want to do. Let’s get out to the polls tomorrow.”
