President Donald Trump laid out a surefire plan to stop violent crime in its tracks on Monday night at a final Save America rally before Election Day, calling for the death penalty for both drug dealers and human traffickers.
“I’m calling for the death penalty for drug dealers and human traffickers, which will, upon its passage, reduce drug distribution and reduce crime in our country by a minimum of 75 percent on the first day that this policy is instituted,” Trump told a crowd of thousands in Vandalia, Ohio.
“I don’t like to bring this up. It’s a tough subject,” he said.
Trump preceded his comments by taking a jab at the violent crime waves of Democrat-run cities in the U.S. “Under the radical left Democrats, the streets of our cities are ruled by bloodthirsty gangs and violent criminals,” he stated.
He also pointed out that throughout their lives, a single drug dealer “will kill an average of 500 Americans.”
The president’s speech in Ohio aimed to support the Trump Ticket in the Buckeye State, which included “Hillbilly Elegy” author and endorsed GOP U.S. Senate nominee JD Vance.
Trump also told the crowd that the death penalty could “stop 75-80 percent of the crime in this country…”
