President Donald Trump hit a home run with the customers and staff of the Downtown House of Pizza in Fort Myers, Florida, on Friday evening, following his remarks at the Lee County GOP dinner.
Video captured online of the surprise visit showed the president entering a crowded pizzeria, where he was greeted by applause, cheering, and chants of “USA” and “Trump!”
In a video posted by Dan Scavino on Twitter, Trump is seen taking a bite out of a slice of pizza and humorously asking if anyone wanted a piece that he had eaten. The crowd laughed and responded, “No!”
Rep. Byron Donalds, R-Fla., who just recently endorsed Trump’s 2024 run, went with the president on his pizza run. Donalds wrote on Twitter, “America’s President paid the people of my district a visit in Downtown Fort Myers, and it was an honor to be a part of this moment alongside my youngest son Mason. SWFL is Trump Country, and together we will give President Trump four more years in the White House.”
On Facebook, Trump wrote “IT WAS MY GREAT HONOR” to additionally send pizza to the Fort Myers Police Department which worked the presidential security detail on Friday night.
“A nice gesture from Donald J. Trump before he departed, for our shifts out working tonight to include everyone working the former Presidential detail in Downtown Fort Myers,” the department wrote on Facebook. “Some Downtown House of Pizza to go around[.]”
Trump’s visit to the Fort Myers business came shortly after his remarks at the Lee County GOP Dinner, where he touched on his political legacy in 2016 and the subsequent transformation of the Republican Party.
RSBN reported that Trump slammed the old Republican Party of “RINOs, Neo-cons, and globalists,” declaring their kind “GONE.”
