President Donald Trump surprised eager supporters and activists at a Team Trump volunteer leadership training in Des Moines, Iowa on Thursday, taking a moment to address the faithful Iowans stumping for his 2024 presidency.

“We’re going to win,” he declared, drawing applause. “We’re going to win bigger than ever before.”

The president touted the success of his first term in office, stating, “We set our nation back on track like never before.”

He touched on the 2020 election, noting that “bad things happened” in the general election and advocating for “free fair, strong, powerful elections.” He also noted that the U.S. needed to bring religion back into our country. “A lot of us are under attack,” he added.

He also took a swipe at Gov. DeSantis’s claims that it was better to have eight years of the presidency than Trump’s remaining four if elected.

“It takes six months to fix it [the country] or LESS,” Trump quipped.

He added, “If you have to rely on someone who needs eight years to fix it, then he’s the WRONG guy.”

The president also heralded his “fantastic” poll numbers and warmly thanked the volunteers gathered in the gym venue where the volunteer training session was being held. “I just want to thank the people in this room – you’ve been very special,” he said.

Trump also engaged with the crowd, inviting them to ask him questions from the floor.

Trump’s surprise appearance came on the heels of his visit to the Machine Shed in Iowa, a local eatery that hosted the Westside Conservative Club in Des Moines.
