President Trump is on track to out-fundraise Biden by many millions at a fundraiser in Florida this weekend.
According to Axios, President Trump is on his way to raising a staggering $43 million at his fundraiser in Palm Beach on Saturday, April 6.
The dinner will be hosted by John Paulson, a hedge fund billionaire, Axios reported. The Financial Times shared what Paulson said about the “Inaugural Leadership Dinner”: “The response to our fundraising efforts has been overwhelming, and we’ve raised over $33mn so far.” Paulson added, “There is massive support amongst a broad spectrum of donors.”
President Trump’s dinner fundraiser is expected to top the $26 million that Biden raised at his fundraiser gala at New York’s Radio City Music Hall.
The exclusive dinner, which Paulson describes as “small in nature, and we are almost at our cap,” will include guests ranging from billionaires like oil baron Harold Hamm to Republican donors Robert and Rebekah Mercer. Former U.S. ambassador to the U.K. Woody Johnson and even the owner of the New York Jets will attend.
According to CBS News, guests are being asked to donate anywhere from $250,000 to $814,000 per person. Axios reports that former presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy, Sen. Tim Scott of South Carolina, and North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum are guest speakers during the event.
According to CBS News, the money raised at the fundraiser will be split between President Trump’s campaign and the Save America PAC, and the remaining money will go to the RNC and other state parties. Up to $6,600 will go directly to President Trump’s campaign.
ABC News reported that President Trump and the Republican Party have already raised more than $65.6 million in March alone, despite President Trump’s continued legal woes.
