President Donald Trump predicted on Tuesday that U.S. astronauts will soon plant an American flag on the surface of Mars.

The president shared the update on future space plans in his 100-day rally remarks in Michigan.

“One day soon, American astronauts will plant the flag on the planet Mars,” Trump said during the event. “It’s going to happen very soon. Every single day of my administration will continue to live by the motto, ‘promises made, promises kept.'”

Trump also addressed future investment in the nation’s Armed Forces to protect Americans.

“We will make the largest ever investment in the U.S. military and build the Golden Dome missile defense shield that is going to protect us so we live a long and beautiful life,” Trump said.

The goals, which served as part of his America First agenda, were highlighted during his speech, with the president claiming he was just getting started with his common-sense revolution.

“We’ve just gotten started. You haven’t even seen anything yet. It’s all just kicking off,” Trump told the Michigan audience.

“Instead of putting China first, I’m putting Michigan first, and I’m putting America first,” he added.

GOP leaders also highlighted Trump’s successes in a White House statement on Tuesday.

“@POTUS has been able to do far more for the American people in the first 100 days than the Biden Administration did in four years. Thanks to the Trump White House, AMERICA IS BACK – and we’re just getting started,” House Speaker Mike Johnson wrote.

“It’s been 100 days of the new Trump administration, and @POTUS is delivering. Securing our southern border, restoring American strength, extending tax relief for Americans, unleashing American energy, saving taxpayer dollars, and restoring common sense,” Senate Majority Leader John Thune agreed.

The speech in Michigan, home to some of the nation’s largest auto industry locations, came on the same day that Trump announced incentives for domestic auto production.

“Today, President Donald J. Trump signed a proclamation to protect national security by incentivizing domestic automobile production and reducing American reliance on imports of foreign automobiles and their parts,” a Tuesday White House fact sheet stated.

“The proclamation modifies the tariff action on automobiles and automobile parts by encouraging manufacturers to assemble their automobiles in the U.S., thereby reducing American reliance on foreign imports of automobiles and automobile parts,” it added.
