President Donald Trump’s coveted political endorsement has sent Republican Senate candidate Bernie Moreno soaring in the Buckeye State, signaling an upcoming GOP win for an America First candidate in November.
Moreno was endorsed by President Trump in December 2023. The president called Moreno a “highly respected businessman” who was “exactly the type of MAGA fighter that we need in the United States Senate.”
Trump said that Moreno would “stand up to the Fascist ‘nut jobs’ and spineless RINOS in order to fight the corrupt Deep State that is destroying our Country.”
According to a new poll from Emerson College, Moreno is currently leading his Republican opponents in the GOP primary race in Ohio by a comfortable margin. Moreno is leading State Sen. Matt Dolan, R-Ohio, by 11 points, and he is leading Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose by 26 points.
For Moreno, Dolan is his closest competition, but with the help of Trump’s endorsement, he is rapidly widening the gap between himself and the state senator.
With undecided voters, Emerson College’s data found that Moreno’s lead jumped up to 44 percent while Dolan held 40 percent, still putting him in the lead.
President Donald Trump spent time in Dayton, Ohio, this past weekend at a Buckeye Values PAC Rally in support of Moreno’s senatorial candidacy. At one point, Moreno took the stage and declared, “This flag on my lapel pin says that I have an obligation to the United States of America!”
His comment was made in response to Joe Biden’s incessant stumping for sending more aid and support to war-torn Ukraine rather than addressing the crisis at the southern border, which has facilitated millions of illegal entrants since 2021.
Donald Trump Jr., the president’s eldest son, wrote on X, “This is the real reason the establishment Swamp fears Bernie:[.]”
