President Trump reacted to recent special counsel John Durham’s indictments related to the Russia probe as well as discussed his post-presidency life and future plans for the 2024 U.S. Presidential Election during a Monday interview.
Appearing on Allie Beth Stuckey’s podcast “Relatable” for a 20-minute phone interview, Trump said, “They concocted this scheme of ‘Russia, Russia, Russia,” he continued, “They knew it was a phony. Schiff knew it, Hillary knew it, they all knew it.”
After Special Counsel Durham announced two major indictments related to his investigation of the Russia investigation, Trump blasted the Democrat tactics used against him for the past five years.
“And they play a vicious game. They play a dirty game,” Trump said. “And they do it continuously.”
“It was a concocted, sick scheme that blew up in their faces, ultimately,” he added.
The 45th president also addressed the media’s unfair portrayal of his family and how those relationships contributed to his business and political success.
“Relationships and family have so much to do with success and happiness,” Trump said. “That’s one of the things that most bothers me: they go after my children. When they go after your children, you take that differently and so personally.”
Amid Biden’s disastrous handling of nearly every issue he touches, Trump reminded Americans of the successes of his administration, including energy independence, 2017 tax cuts, low gas prices, founding of the U.S. Space Force, and containment of the U.S.-Mexico border.
“We had inexpensive energy. Everybody was working,” he said. “We created the greatest economy in the history of our Country.”
Trump took credit for Republicans’ electoral victories earlier this month, pointing to his four endorsees who were all victorious, including Virginia’s Governor-elect Glenn Youngkin, and Ohio Rep. Mike Carey.
Citing his 2020 campaign’s historic 12 million vote increase from 2016 to 2020, he touted, “Don’t forget we got over 75 million votes– probably much more than that.”
“12 million more votes than last time. [But] a lot of bad things happened,” Trump continued.
Finally, he addressed 2024 campaign speculation, teasing a revival of his iconic Make America Great Again slogan.
“I think you’re going to be very happy, and I think your audience is going to be very happy,” Trump said. “I love our country and we put America first.”
“Now we have to ‘Make America Great Again,’ again,” Trump said. “We made it great, but we’re going to have to do it again.”
