President Donald Trump took to Truth Social following former Clinton campaign lawyer Michael Sussmann’s acquittal, writing, “Our Legal System is CORRUPT.”

He continued, “our Judges (and Justices!) are highly partisan, compromised or just plain scared, our Borders are OPEN, our Elections are Rigged, Inflation is RAMPANT, gas prices and food costs are ‘through the roof,’ our Military ‘Leadership’ is Woke, our Country is going to HELL, and Michael Sussmann is not guilty. How’s everything else doing? Enjoy your day!!!” the president said.

On Tuesday, a jury found Sussmann not guilty of making a false statement to the FBI after special counsel John Durham accused the former Clinton campaign lawyer of falsely misguiding the FBI to smear Trump in 2016, as previously reported by RSBN

According to Fox News, Sussmann was charged after meeting with then-FBI general counsel James Baker to discuss false accusations about ties between the Trump Organization and the Russian Alfa Bank. During the meeting, Sussmann told Baker he came on his own accord and not on behalf of a client.

Durham claimed Sussmann “had assembled and conveyed the allegations to the FBI on behalf of at least two specific clients,” including the Clinton campaign.

Sussmann told Kash Patel, a then-chief congressional investigator for the House Intelligence Committee’s Russia investigation, under oath that he did not meet with the FBI and the CIA of his “own volition.” He responded “yes” after he was asked if a client prompted him to meet with the federal agents about Trump-Russia allegations.

According to The Epoch Times, prosecutors argued that Sussmann collaborated with Neustar executive Rodney Joffe, who claims he was promised a position in the Clinton administration and the Clinton campaign in an elaborate attempt to influence the 2016 election.

Moreover, the outlet reported that Clinton campaign manager Robby Mook testified that Hillary Clinton approved plans to spread the debunked claim about the Trump Organization and the Alfa Bank to reporters. However, campaign officials disapproved of Sussmann going to the FBI out of fear that the media would delay their reporting on the false claims.

Durham’s team also released evidence showing Sussmann billed the Clinton campaign for the thumb drives he presented to Baker during their meeting, along with “white papers,” according to the Washington Examiner.

Despite a plethora of evidence against Sussmann, a jury reportedly made up of multiple Clinton donors and a woman whose daughter is associated with Sussmann’s daughter found him innocent of the charge, as further reported by The Epoch Times.

The trial was also under federal Judge Christopher Cooper, nominated by Barack Obama, the New York Post noted

Russian-born Igor Danchenko, the primary source of Christopher Steele’s fabricated dossier, was also charged with making a false statement and is accused of lying to the FBI, according to Fox News. He will head to trial on Oct. 11.
