President Donald Trump has remained wildly popular among American voters, according to a new poll conducted by Harvard CAPS Harris.
Based on their recent survey of registered voters, 42 percent had a “favorable” view of the 45th president, making him the most favorably viewed politician amidst a field of political figures ranging from Bernie Sanders to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif.
Trump’s popularity among American voters has also translated to projected victory if he decides to run for president in 2024.
RSBN previously reported that the same Harvard CAPS Harris poll found that Trump saw a 15 percent increase in support among GOP voters in just one month. According to the report, 56 percent of Republicans would vote for Trump in a 2024 presidential election.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, the poll revealed that Pelosi and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., were the two most unpopular political figures in the United States among respondents. They netted only 29 percent and 27 percent favorability among voters, respectively.
Interestingly, the survey also found that only 30 percent of Democrat voters would vote for Joe Biden if he were the Democrat nominee in a hypothetical 2024 election held today.
However, in a scenario where Biden declines to run in 2024, Kamala Harris netted 25 percent of potential Democrat voters’ support. While 25 percent gives Harris the lead over a field of potential candidates, including Hillary Clinton, she is even less popular than Biden is with their base.
The Harvard CAPS Harris poll further affirmed that if the 2024 election were held today between Joe Biden and President Trump, 43 percent would vote for Trump over Biden, handing him a presidential victory.
Similarly, based on their findings, Trump would also beat Kamala Harris by an even bigger margin, 45 percent to 39 percent.
