President Donald Trump praised the Texas GOP on Tuesday after it voted to reject the results of the 2020 presidential election.

In a statement on Truth Social, Trump wrote, “Wow! Look at the Great State of Texas and their powerful Republican Party Platform on the 2020 Presidential Election Fraud.” He continued, “After much research and study, they disavow the national result for President.”

According to The Hill, the Texas GOP adopted a 40-page platform during its convention in Houston last weekend. The state’s Republican Party platform states, “We reject the certified results of the 2020 presidential election, and we hold that acting President Joseph Robinette Biden Jr. was not legitimately elected by the people of the United States.”

In response to the Texas GOP’s platform, the 45th president praised the “courage” of Texas. “That’s why Texas is Texas!!!” said Trump. He added, “They know that a Country cannot survive without Free and Fair Elections (and STRONG BORDERS!).”

While multiple states have investigated evidence of widespread voter fraud in the 2020 election, the Texas GOP chose to go a step further and adopt an official resolution rejecting the legitimacy of the Biden administration.

Texas has taken a strong stance against voter fraud and displayed a steadfast commitment to election integrity. Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton recently prosecuted a Texas woman who had pleaded guilty to 26 counts of voter fraud.

With the growing evidence of voter fraud in the 2020 presidential election, Trump has continued to emphasize the need for “Free and Fair Elections” and warned that the United States must implement additional measures to uphold the integrity of U.S. elections.

In the aftermath of the Texas GOP’s bold stance on voter fraud, the national spotlight will almost certainly turn toward other state Republican Party leaders to see if they will follow suit and deny the legitimacy of the Biden administration.

As the Texas GOP platform states, “We strongly urge all Republicans to work to ensure election integrity and to show up to vote in November of 2022, bring your friends and family, volunteer for your local Republicans and overwhelm any possible fraud.”
