President Donald Trump poked fun at the “fake news” and the now-defeated incumbent Rep. Liz Cheney, R-Wyo., on Truth Social, roasting both entities for losing out with the American public “Trivia question: who’s got less charisma, Brian Stelter or Liz Cheney,” the 45th president wrote.

“I say Liz Cheney, because Stelter could have gotten more votes than she did the other night in Wyoming – She lost by 40!” he continued.

Earlier this week, Brian Stelter, the host of CNN’s “Reliable Sources,” revealed that he would be leaving his position with the network, prompting many conservatives and proponents of President Donald Trump to poke fun at Stelter’s departure.

“Brian Stelter of Fake News CNN got fired because he lied, and lied, and lied – ABOUT ME,” President Trump wrote on Truth Social. “May he REST IN PEACE!”

Conservative pundits have similarly weighed in on Stelter’s departure this week. “Hey @brianstelter, would you be interested in working for the Bee?” Babylon Bee CEO Seth Dillon remarked on Twitter. “We’re looking for talent with experience putting out funny fake news. You come highly recommended. Shoot me a DM if you’re interested!”

“2000 Mules” creator Dinesh D’Souza wrote: “Taking a cue from Liz Cheney, I expect Brian Stelter to say he’s now thinking of putting in his name for the presidency of CNN.”

Per Fox News, Stelter was a notorious left-wing commentator who prominently criticized President Trump. Stelter’s show reportedly suffered a 41 percent drop in viewers between the ages of 25 and 54 in August, according to Fox News’ report.

Furthermore, Rep. Cheney was recently defeated in her congressional primary race against Trump-endorsed candidate Harriet Hageman in Wyoming. Cheney drew the ire of conservatives across the country following her move to vote to impeach President Trump in 2021. Her long-standing position on the partisan Jan. 6 Committee investigating the “insurrection” on the U.S. Capitol was also wildly unpopular among Wyoming voters.

“The Fake News Media continues to push Crazy Liz Cheney and the fact that, despite losing her Wyoming Congressional race to a far superior candidate by an unprecedented 40 points, she has a ‘bright’ political future,” Trump stated in yet another Truth Social post.

He added, “Really? I don’t think so, but perhaps that’s why we call it the FAKE NEWS!”
