President Donald Trump rolled up in style to a Buckeye Values PAC Rally in Dayton, Ohio, on Saturday, stepping off his Boeing 757, Trump Force One, and walking directly to a podium surrounded by thousands of excited supporters.

The president’s appearance in Ohio was aimed at drumming up electric support for Republican Ohio U.S. Senate candidate Bernie Moreno, but it also marked the president’s first big speech since clinching the GOP presidential nomination this week. He is now the official presumptive Republican primary nominee for 2024.

The president and the crowd first stood in a poignant moment for the National Anthem, as sung by the January 6 hostages.

“You see the spirit from the hostages, and that’s what they are – hostages,” Trump said upon taking the podium. “…We’re going to be working on that, the first day we get into office, we’re going to save our country.”

Trump also highlighted his big week of primary wins and his victory in the Republican primary election season, saying that it “turned out to be a big victory for Trump and that was good for all of US.”

He added, “I’m thrilled to be back with the proud, hardworking patriots of the great state Ohio – I won this state and YOU won this state!”

The president added that they had “never seen numbers like this” in the primary election and said, “SOMETHING’S going on here!”
