President Donald Trump announced on Truth Social that Big Tech platforms are “up MASSIVELY” since social media companies like Meta decided to end the senseless two-year ban. While Big Tech has been at the forefront of the censorship controversy over the past few years, Trump reports that Truth Social “is hot as a pistol.”
“Have you seen that Big Tech is up MASSIVELY since they put me back on the platforms. META UP 57%,” Trump wrote on Truth Social Friday, as Meta announced it would allow the president back on Facebook and Instagram.
Highlighting Truth Social’s massive growth since its launch, Trump added: “Truth Social is hot as a pistol —People are pouring into its beautiful web at levels far greater than ever expected. It’s my VOICE!”
The 45th president’s comments come as Facebook’s parent company Meta backtrack its initial decision to ban Trump from using its social media platforms.
As reported by RSBN, Meta’s president of global affairs, Nick Clegg, announced the company would be “ending the suspension” of Trump “in the coming weeks.” Alluding to the company’s change of heart, Clegg said that Meta has “put new guardrails in place to deter repeat offenses.”
Meta’s turnaround follows Twitter’s decision to reinstate Trump’s account at the behest of its new owner Elon Musk.
Acknowledging the backlash the company will likely experience after initially kicking off Trump from Facebook and Instagram in the aftermath of the Jan. 6 Capitol protests, Clegg added, “the public should be able to hear what politicians are saying so they can make informed choices.”
President Trump responded to the news by publishing a scathing post on Truth Social.
“FACEBOOK, which has lost Billions of Dollars in value since ‘deplatforming’ your favorite President, me, has just announced that they are reinstating my account,” Trump said. “Such a thing should never again happen to a sitting President, or anybody else who is not deserving of retribution!”
Nonetheless, the consequence of Trump’s de-platforming led to the birth of Truth Social, which continues to soar to new heights, as per RSBN.
“Truth Social’s been amazing,” Trump said in a recent exclusive interview with RSBN’s Brian Glenn. “…that whole world, I call it the world of…‘semi make-believe,’ because who would think that there’s value in…what’s been created. But it’s been fake media. Truth Social’s been real media – it’s been real.“
