The 13th day of the “Biden Trial” unfolding in Manhattan started off with a bang on Tuesday as President Trump addressed the press before stepping into the courtroom on a day when Stormy Daniels offered her testimony.
“The country is on FIRE,” Trump told reporters, sporting a gold tie. “There are protests all over the country. I’ve never seen anything like this. Many graduation ceremonies are being canceled…we have a president that just refuses to talk because he CAN’T talk – you know that, and so does everyone else.”
Tuesday’s contentious court proceedings come on the heels of a 10th alleged gag order violation for comments dating back to April 22. Judge Juan Merchan has warned that the president could face jail time for future violations.
According to The New York Times, following the testimony of a former employee for Penguin Random House (Sally Franklin), Daniels took the stand. The crux of the case rests upon allegations surrounding “hush money” that was paid to the porn actress via then-Trump lawyer Michael Cohen.
The NYT reported that Daniels began her testimony on Tuesday with a long story about her childhood in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Daniels’ testimony is a controversial one for many critics of the case. In 2018, an alleged letter from Daniels herself surfaced, in which she denied that she ever had an affair with Donald Trump.
On Tuesday, Trump called the unrelenting gag order on his First Amendment rights “unconstitutional” and noted that “with all that’s going on, they have no case.”
He continued, “There’s absolutely no case, it’s a case that shouldn’t have been brought. The previous DA wouldn’t bring it…this all comes out of the White House and Crooked Joe Biden.”
Trump stated that while the trial was “unfair,” the “good news is, they have nothing.”
