President Donald Trump declared on Wednesday that his third indictment would help prove election fraud as he faces a 2024 race to the White House.

In a statement posted to Truth Social, Trump commented on Mike Pence, saying he felt “badly” for the failing presidential candidate “who is attracting no crowds, enthusiasm or loyalty who, as a member of the Trump Administration, should be loving him.”

He continued, “He didn’t fight against Election Fraud, which we will now be easily able to prove based on the most recent Fake Indictment & information which will have to be made available to us, finally – a really BIG deal.”

Trump ally Kari Lake strongly criticized Mike Pence’s 2020 decision to certify election results.

In 2020, then-Vice President Mike Pence had an opportunity to send potentially fraudulent electoral votes back to the sovereign states amid a torrent of allegations that irregularities and inconsistencies had occurred in counties nationwide. Pence ultimately opted to certify the 2020 presidential election.

“The V.P. had power that Mike didn’t understand, but after the Election, the RINOS & Dems changed the law, taking that power away!” Trump added.

In 2022, Joe Biden signed legislation known as the Electoral Count Reform and Presidential Transition Improvement Act of 2022 (ECRA), which designated the role of the vice president in the certification process as “solely ministerial” via NCSL.

This 2022 change to the Electoral Count Act of 1887 has led many to logically conclude that former Vice President Pence did indeed appear to have the authority to reject the electoral votes in 2020.

Trump’s third indictment this week came from Washington, D.C., where he was charged with four counts related to the so-called “insurrection” on January 6, 2021. He remarked on Thursday, “The Dems don’t want to run against me or they would not be doing this unprecedented weaponization of ‘Justice.’ BUT SOON, IN 2024, IT WILL BE OUR TURN. MAGA!”
