President Donald Trump gave a press conference early Monday afternoon from the Trump Building where he scorched New York Judge Arthur Engoron for being “corrupt” and for continuing to propagate “election interference” in 2024.
“This is ALL about election interference,” Trump told the press.
He arrived at 40 Wall Street in New York just after sitting in for a pretrial hearing in the ongoing “hush money” case overseen by another New York Judge, Juan Merchan. Per CBS, Merchan set the trial date in that case for April 15.
“It’s a shame what’s happening to our country,” Trump continued.
He slammed Mark Pomerantz, who wrote a salacious book called “People vs. Donald Trump” in February 2023, which tells the alleged story of how Pomerantz supposedly urged District Attorney Alvin Bragg to bring the indictment against Trump in the “hush money” case.
The president said that all of the elements of the legal cases levied against him were “done by Biden and his thugs” because “they can’t win an election” based on their failed policies of open borders, high energy prices, inflation, and an increasingly weakened station on the global stage.
“So, all of these things…they do election interference, which is court cases,” he explained.
He called Judge Engoron “corrupt” and eviscerated him and New York Attorney General Letitia James for killing economic opportunity in the Empire State.
He added, “This state is losing tremendous prestige, it’s losing its companies, it’s losing its people…and violent crime is flourishing …It’s happening in other cities but not with the lawfare.”
The president also emphasized that any one of the court cases brought against him right now could have been brought immediately when he left office in 2021. Instead, they were brought only after he announced his 2024 reelection campaign.
He continued, “If I were not running or if I were doing poorly like everyone else has done…this wouldn’t be happening.”
Despite the ongoing lawfare, he applauded the decision of the appellate division to greatly reduce the nearly half-billion dollar bond amount originally set by Judge Engoron. On Monday, the court lowered it to $175 million.
“It’s a lot of money still, but the judge is corrupt in my opinion,” Trump said, referring to Engoron. “…He ruled against me before he even knew anything about the case.”
