President Donald Trump announced on Sunday that Lebanese-American businessman Massad Boulos will serve as a senior adviser on Arab and Middle Eastern affairs.

Trump made the announcement on Truth Social, noting that Boulos, who is also the father-in-law of Trump’s daughter Tiffany, had met frequently with Arab American and Muslim leaders during the election campaign.

“I am proud to announce that Massad Boulos will serve as Senior Advisor to the President on Arab and Middle Eastern affairs. Massad is an accomplished lawyer and a highly respected leader in the business world, with extensive experience on the International scene,” he wrote.

“He has been a longtime proponent of Republican and Conservative values, an asset to my Campaign, and was instrumental in building tremendous new coalitions with the Arab American Community. Massad is a dealmaker, and an unwavering supporter of PEACE in the Middle East. He will be a strong advocate for the United States, and its interests, and I am pleased to have him on our team!” he added.

The appointment marks the second time in recent days that Trump has selected the father-in-law of one of his children for a key role in his administration. On Saturday, Trump revealed that he had appointed Charles Kushner, the father of his son-in-law Jared Kushner, as the U.S. ambassador to France.

Throughout the campaign, Boulos played a significant role in garnering support from Lebanese and Arab Americans, even as the U.S. backed Israel’s military actions against Hezbollah in Lebanon. Boulos has deep political ties in both Lebanon and the U.S. His father and grandfather were prominent figures in Lebanese politics, and his father-in-law was a major supporter of the Free Patriotic Movement, a Christian political party with ties to Hezbollah.

Boulos’ son, Michael, married Tiffany Trump in a lavish ceremony at Mar-a-Lago in November 2022, following their engagement at the White House Rose Garden during Trump’s first term.

Boulos has maintained relationships across Lebanon’s diverse political landscape, ranging from Shi’ites in Lebanon to Lebanese Christians and independents.
