President Trump has long been the lone voice of reason in the swirling chaos of war between Russia and Ukraine, frequently calling for peace talks and warning about the threat of nuclear weapons.
He wrote boldly on Truth Social on Thursday, “IF I WERE PRESIDENT, THE RUSSIA/UKRAINE WAR WOULD NEVER HAVE HAPPENED, BUT EVEN NOW, IF PRESIDENT, I WOULD BE ABLE TO NEGOTIATE AN END TO THIS HORRIBLE AND RAPIDLY ESCALATING WAR WITHIN 24 HOURS. SUCH A TRAGIC WASTE OF HUMAN LIFE!!!”
Trump’s comments come amid the Biden administration’s decision to send 31 M1 Abrams Tanks to Ukraine. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated on Thursday that Moscow views the gift of tanks to Ukraine as the West’s “direct involvement in the conflict,” via CNN’s Uliana Pavlova.
“FIRST COME THE TANKS, THEN COME THE NUKES,” Trump declared earlier this week on Truth Social. “Get this crazy war ended, NOW. So easy to do!”
In February 2022, Trump warned that Russia was emboldened in its aggression toward Ukraine because of Biden’s incompetence.
As reported by RSBN, Trump told Fox News, “How we got here is when they watched Afghanistan [the withdrawal], and they watched the most incompetent withdrawal in the history of probably any army, let alone just us, and President Xi and President Putin – watch what happens with China very soon with Taiwan – and they watched that, and they said: ‘What’s going on? They don’t know what they’re doing.’ And all of a sudden I think they got a lot more ambitious.”
Via RSBN, in addition to the 31 Abrams Tanks, the U.S. has sent nearly $100 billion in aid to fund the country’s ongoing war efforts against Russian invasion.
Turning Point USA President Charlie Kirk recently begged the question, “Does anyone have a plan for how to safely end this war. Or is our plan the same as Afghanistan – send as much money and equipment as possible and hope for the best? What is our plan if Russia decides it would rather use nuclear weapons than lose Crimea or Donbas?”
Ominously, Trump posited on Truth Social on Friday regarding the escalating Ukraine crisis, “A major disaster is brewing!”
