President Donald Trump spoke out recently about the violence unfolding in Haiti, deriding the Biden administration’s inaction to ensure the safe return of stranded American citizens in the country.
“The world is crumbling into pieces under Crooked Joe Biden, and the disaster in Afghanistan was just the beginning – one of the saddest chapters in the history of our country,” he said in a video posted to Truth Social.
He continued, “Now, Haiti is descending into chaos, yet the Biden administration says they have no idea how many American citizens are stranded in this very dangerous foreign land and country, and [they have] no plan to get them out, they have NO IDEA what to do [and] how to take care of our people.”
Earlier this year, Haiti devolved into violence and chaos when rogue gangs seized control of the country’s capital, facilitating the deaths of hundreds of people, per CBS News. In the wake of the unrest plaguing the streets of Haiti, Florida has anticipated that a wave of Haitian migrants seeking to escape the bloodshed in their home country would attempt to cross into the U.S.
Last week, the U.S. State Department spokesperson Vedant Patel stated, “We continue to explore options that we have at our disposal when it comes to American citizens interested in departing Haiti.”
President Trump touted the rescue efforts of Rep. Cory Mills, R-Fla., who successfully evacuated 10 Americans “and at-risk volunteers” from an orphanage in the wreckage of the gang violence.
“By the way, they’re abandoned all over the place [American citizens],” Trump said. “They’re also abandoned in Afghanistan, we have many American people still living in Afghanistan, probably as hostages. Countless other American citizens have been left to find their own way out of Haiti.”
Trump pointed out that under his administration, “we lived by a different motto: no American left behind, NONE….we rescued countless Americans from danger, we never gave up on bringing our people back home during the Trump administration. We got 58 people out and we paid nothing.”
President Trump argued that Joe Biden was totally “incompetent” and said that “all Americans will be safer” once he’s out of office.
“November 5th, is the most important day in the history of our country,” he concluded. “You will have a strong leader in the White House once again, you will have a respected country – we’ll be respected again all over the world.”
