The Washington Post’s latest editorial on the competence of President Trump’s administration is a clear example of how the biased leftist media has resorted to clown tactics to denigrate President Trump.
Breitbart reported that on Thursday morning, The Washington Post published an editorial written by a “professional clown” on President Trump’s competency. The author, Tim Cunningham, was pictured in his clown get-up under the headline, “I’m a clown. Donald Trump is not one of us.”
The piece sought to chastise political pundits for using the term clown when referring to President Trump’s cabinet and claimed that clowns bring peace and not chaos. The piece is full of cringey clown insults that assert that President Trump is supposedly a fascist, which couldn’t be further from the truth.
According to Breitbart, in an editorial, Cunningham had written, “Real clowns bring joy to the world, not chaos to Washington,” completely ignoring the fact that it was President Trump who solved the border crisis and is the reason why unemployment is down. According to the White House, in May alone this year, President Trump’s administration added a whopping 139,000 jobs, with real average hourly earnings up by nearly 4 percent over the past year.
That’s not all. Since President Trump took office, real disposable personal income has risen with an annualized pace of 7.5 percent. In addition to a booming economy, RSBN reported that President Trump’s forward-thinking leadership has also seen the Bitcoin and stock market reach record highs this week.
Whatever reaction Cunningham was hoping for, the opposite occurred. While the editorial garnered a lot of attention, this came in the form of disbelief and mockery. Social media users mocked the Washington Post’s decision to allow a clown to comment on experts.
Not only is the editorial an embarrassment for The Washington Post, but it comes less than a year after Amazon founder Jeff Bezos promised to rehabilitate the once-prominent news outlet’s reputation. Breitbart reported that Bezos published an op-ed in which he wrote, “We must work harder to control what we can control to increase our credibility.” Instead, the news outlet seems to have abandoned investigative journalism and brought in a clown show.
