President Trump has brought a lawsuit against a private British investigations organization that is linked to Christopher Steele, the ex-British spy who underscored the infamous Steele dossier that has long since been debunked, multiple outlets have reported.

Per Reuters, the 45th president is suing Orbis Business Intelligence for allegations of “protection breaches over a dossier” that was written by Steele, who apparently co-founded the company.

Americans may recall the dossier, which alleged links between the Trump campaign and Russian assets, detailing wild stories of sex and blackmail. The president said in a witness statement that the dossier was full of “false” allegations, and he is suing the private investigations firm to settle the truth of the matter in court, Reuters further reported.

Last spring, the Federal Election Commission fined Hillary Clinton and the Democratic National Committee for “lying” about paying for the Steele dossier, per RSBN.

In May 2023, President Trump slammed the FBI after the release of the final Durham Report, which made a shocking allegation: the FBI reportedly offered Steele $1 million to dream up false stories about the president.

Trump remarked, “The FBI offered Christopher Steele One Million Dollars in order to FRAME me. Why aren’t all of the so called Special ‘Prosecutors,’ together with their bosses at the DOJ, doing something about this. Why aren’t people under arrest.”

Via Reuters, the Steele dossier was initially published in 2017 on BuzzFeed and included such colorful allegations as prostitution, “golden showers,” and various other accusations of sex-related blackmail.

However, the final Durham Report that was released this spring addressed the alleged lack of validity of the Steele dossier, suggesting strongly that the FBI itself may have been involved in weaponizing Christopher Steele’s unsubstantiated claims.

According to Reuters, a judge will rule at a later time whether President Trump’s lawsuit will be allowed to continue against Orbis.
