Florida is unquestionably Trump country in the 2024 GOP primary, and the newest polling data from Victory Insights resoundingly proves it.
In the Sunshine State, President Trump is holding a crushing 41-point lead in their Republican primary battle, right in Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’s (R) own backyard.
The dominant lead is a blow to the governor’s 2024 campaign, and it begs an important question: if the incumbent governor cannot win the support of his own state, what does that mean for the future of his presidential bid?
In Victory Insights’ poll, former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley netted third place with eight percent of Floridians’ support, while former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie came in third with five percent.
In a head-to-head battle in Florida, Trump maintained polling supremacy with a 31-point lead over DeSantis, proving again that his popularity among Sunshine State voters appears here to stay.
It’s not just in Florida that the 45th president is racking up support, either. According to the newest data from Morning Consult’s 2024 GOP primary tracker, Trump has a whopping 54-point lead over the entire field of Republican primary candidates. In their survey, he earned 67 percent of support, while DeSantis netted the runner-up position with 13 percent.
With the Iowa caucuses just one month away, President Trump is poised to sweep the Republican primary in 2024. Even the Republican National Committee (RNC) seems to have recognized the prospective primary victory of Trump, illustrated in their recent announcement that they would be bowing out their involvement in the next GOP primary debates.
As reported by RSBN, each GOP debate has garnered increasingly worse viewership as the months have progressed. The fourth debate in early December cratered at just 4.1 million viewers. It is worth noting that President Trump has not attended any of the GOP debates this time around, and yet he has the biggest primary lead yet.
