President Trump took a bold swing at Judge Juan Merchan on Tuesday morning, ahead of his second day sitting in a criminal courtroom in Manhattan, where he will spend the bulk of his time for the next several weeks.

Heading into the second day of the criminal trial on Tuesday, Trump boldly smoked the expanded gag order that he had previously been slapped with. This order bars him from speaking about witnesses, prosecutors, or family members of court staffers.

He wrote on Truth Social:

“This conflicted, Trump Hating Judge won’t let me respond to people that are on TV lying and spewing hate all day long. He is running rough shod over my lawyers and legal team. The New York System of “Justice” is being decimated by critics from all over the World. I want to speak, or at least be able to respond. Election Interference! RIGGED, UNCONSTITUTIONAL TRIAL! Take off the Gag Order!!!”

On Tuesday, Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg filed a motion to hold Trump in contempt of court for alleged violations of the gag order, RSBN reported. The motion comes after prosecutors cited examples of social media posts that Trump posted online, where he slammed Michael Cohen and Stormy Daniels as “sleaze bags.”

Trump is facing a fine of $1,000 for each alleged violation – there are three. However, Fox News reported that Trump has been threatened with 30 days in jail, as well, as part of the contempt motion.

To make matters worse, Judge Juan Merchan also told the president yesterday that he could face jail time if he doesn’t sit in court every day for the trial, which is expected to last between six to eight weeks. Incredibly, this tense trial schedule is unfolding amidst a critical general election campaign season in 2024.

Trump slammed the case as “bogus” and stated that it has “no merit” on Monday. He argued that it had been brought for the sole purpose of hurting his chances of winning the presidential election in November, courtesy of alleged election interference from the Biden White House.
