President Donald Trump suggested on Wednesday that he may try to revoke Rosie O’Donnell’s U.S. citizenship, criticizing the comedian and actress after her recent move to Ireland.

“As previously mentioned, we are giving serious thought to taking away Rosie O’Donnell’s Citizenship. She is not a Great American and is, in my opinion, incapable of being so!” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

O’Donnell left the U.S. to move to Ireland earlier this year with her daughter following Trump’s election victory. At the time, she told Fox News, “When it is safe for all citizens to have equal rights there in America, that’s when we will consider coming back.” She is in the process of applying for Irish citizenship with plans to hold dual nationality.

Trump’s comments come after O’Donnell sparked controversy with comments following a deadly shooting at a Catholic church in Minneapolis last week. In a video, she claimed the gunman was “a White guy, Republican, MAGA person. What do you know? White supremacists.”

O’Donnell later deleted the post and issued an apology. “I knew a lot of you were very upset about the video I made before I went away for a few days,” she said.

“You are right. I did not do my due diligence before I made that emotional statement, and I said things about the shooter that were incorrect. I assumed, like most shooters, they followed a standard MO and had standard, you know, NRA-loving kind of gun people. Anyway, the truth is I messed up, and when you mess up, you fess up. I’m sorry. This is my apology video and I hope it’s enough,” O’Donnell added.

Trump previously called for ending O’Donnell’s American citizenship in a July post to Truth Social.

“Because of the fact that Rosie O’Donnell is not in the best interests of our Great Country, I am giving serious consideration to taking away her Citizenship,” Trump wrote on social media.

“She is a Threat to Humanity, and should remain in the wonderful Country of Ireland, if they want her. GOD BLESS AMERICA!” he added.

O’Donnell responded on TikTok after Trump’s latest post, calling him a danger to the nation.

“The potus ladies n gentlemen is a disgrace to all our beautiful country stands for – he is a danger to the nation – a mentally ill untreated criminal who lied to america for a decade on the apprentice – thanks mark burnett – and u fell for it – its so tragic,” she said.
