President Donald Trump will be in the stands for the U.S. Open men’s final on Sunday, a White House official confirmed to Fox News late Thursday.

The championship match is set for Arthur Ashe Stadium in Flushing Meadows, located in Queens. The finalists have yet to be determined, and no American men will play in the final after Taylor Fritz, the last remaining U.S. contender, was eliminated earlier in the tournament.

Friday’s semifinal round will decide who advances. Novak Djokovic is scheduled to face Carlos Alcaraz, while Jannik Sinner will meet Felix Auger-Aliassime.

Trump is no stranger to the U.S. Open. He was a spectator several times in past years, including in September 2015 when he attended with his wife, Melania, just months after launching his first presidential campaign. At that event, photos captured John McEnroe shaking his hand. Trump also made appearances in 2014, 2013 and 2010.

This weekend’s trip is part of a busy sports calendar for Trump. He is scheduled to attend the New York Yankees’ game next week on the anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. Later in the month, he plans to be at the Ryder Cup.

The president has often been spotted at major sporting events, both during his time in office and while on the campaign trail.

As RSBN previously reported, in February, he became the first sitting president to attend the Super Bowl, when the Philadelphia Eagles played the Kansas City Chiefs in New Orleans. The following week, he attended the Daytona 500, where he rode a lap around the track in his presidential limousine, known as “The Beast.”

He has also made appearances at the Saudi-backed LIV Golf tournament, the NCAA wrestling championships in Philadelphia, and multiple UFC and mixed martial arts fights, including events in Newark and Miami earlier this year. Trump has even announced plans to bring a UFC event to the White House.

In 2019, during his first term in office, President Donald Trump attended Game 5 of the World Series in Washington, D.C., where the Nationals faced the Houston Astros. Two years later, after leaving the White House, he attended the 2021 World Series between the Astros and the Atlanta Braves.
