President Donald Trump vowed to reverse Joe Biden’s policies during his final days in office set to make the Trump administration’s work even more difficult.

Trump shared his response in an interview with radio host Hugh Hewitt on Monday.

“It’s ridiculous. I’ll unban it immediately. I will unban it. I have the right to unban it immediately,” Trump said. “What’s he doing? Why is he doing it?”

“We have oil and gas at a level that nobody else has. And we’re going to take advantage of it,” Trump said. “And when I see somebody saying he’s going to ban 625 million acres, he doesn’t know what that is. He doesn’t even know what 625 million acres would look like, and we can’t let that happen to our country. It’s our greatest, it’s really our greatest economic asset. And we’re not going to let that happen to our country. We’re going to be great again.”

Trump argued that he would change many of the recent Biden policy efforts to slow down his efforts to unleash American energy on “Day One” of his administration.

“The good news is I can change it immediately,” Trump continued. “It’ll be changed on Day One. I can change it immediately. Now, they’ll do everything they can to make it as difficult as possible. You know, they talk about a transition. They’re always saying oh, no, we want to have a smooth transition from party to party, for, you know, of government. Well, they’re making it really difficult.”

The move came as Biden announced a permanent end to new oil and gas drilling across more than 625 million acres of coastal waters around the U.S., the New York Times reported. According to the outlet, the announcement protects around 20 percent of the nearly 3.2 billion acres of seabed controlled by the country.

Trump was elected with his campaign promise to unleash American energy which would increase oil and gas production domestically. The clashing policies are likely to be the focus of early Trump efforts as he enters office on Jan. 20 and begins what he has called America’s “golden era.”
