President Donald Trump touted the success of his new social media venture, Truth Social, during an electrifying Save America rally in Casper, Wyoming, on Saturday. “Everybody!” he told the excited crowd. “Get off Twitter and go [to] Truth Social!”
He joked that Twitter wanted him to return to their platform. “They want me back so badly,” he said. “And I’m not going back because we have Truth!” The crowd erupted into cheers. “We have Truth on our side!” he declared.
Trump also joked that his tweets “seriously hit a nerve,” especially pertaining to his comments about Obama spying on his campaign in 2016. “They [Twitter, Democrats] realized that we caught them…they tried to protect it…now it’s turned out to be true…they spied on our campaign!” he said.
Trump was referring to the long-awaited Durham report, a federal filing from Special Counsel John Durham investigating the claims of so-called “Russian Collusion” between Trump and the Russians during the 2016 election. The report revealed that Hillary Clinton’s campaign was reportedly spying on Trump during his 2016 campaign and during his time in the White House.
“Get off Twitter!” Trump told the crowd again, encouraging them to join Truth Social, which is now available to iOS users and all Americans via a web-based app.
