As conservative Americans across the country celebrate President Donald Trump’s victory in the elections, he announced his plans to honor America’s 250th birthday with a year-long celebration.
Politico reported on a new policy video in which Trump unveiled his plans to throw a year-long celebration to celebrate the country’s semi-quincentennial: the quarter millennial since its Declaration of Independence. The celebration, which is to be called “Salute to America 250”, will feature a “Great American State Fair.”
A fair will feature pavilions representing 50 different states, high school sporting contests and a revival of Trump’s “National Garden of American Heroes.” These will be gardens with statues of important people in American history, such as the female aviator Amelia Earhart.
In the video, Just The News shared that Trump said, “Three years from now, the United States will celebrate the biggest and most important milestone in our country’s history: 250 years of American independence.”
How does Trump plan to achieve this spectacular feat? According to Politico, he plans to propose a task force from his first day in office to “ensure not just one day of celebration, but an entire year of festivities across the nation starting on Memorial Day 2025 and continuing through July 4th, 2026.”
To bring his one-of-a-kind American State Fair to life, Trump hopes to open up the legendary Iowa State Fairgrounds, which will attract visitors nationwide. Not only will the fair be a great display of patriotism, but it will be a tourism booster. He explained, “America’s tourist industry should get ready because we’re going to have a lot of people coming. It will be a record year.”
The last year-long celebration was held in 1976 when President Gerald Ford held a year-long bicentennial celebration for the 200th anniversary of America’s independence that featured parades and a freedom train. Trump’s celebration is no doubt going to be a not-to-be-missed event.
In the final moments of his speech, he said, “As we chart a course towards the next 250 years, let us come together and rededicate ourselves as one nation, under God.”
