President Donald Trump ripped the nation’s current economic state under Joe Biden in a fiery statement posted on his new social media platform, Truth Social. “USA MUST FIGHT BACK,” he wrote. “No more losing our JOBS and BUSINESSES, again, to other countries. AMERICA FIRST!”

The 45th president’s comments come in light of news that the tractor manufacturing company John Deere will be moving a portion of its tractor and cab assembly operations facility from Iowa to Mexico by 2024.

According a report from Reuters, Deere & Co wrote in an official statement: “The decision to move cab production ensures the company can balance workforce needs within the tight labor market, while also ensuring Waterloo can open up floor space to manufacture new products.” The decision would impact 250 employees in Waterloo, Iowa.

However, Reuters additionally reported that a nationwide shortage of workers has been boosting wages and therefore making things difficult for domestic manufacturers to keep up with rising inflation.

The economic landscape of the U.S. has made it increasingly difficult for American manufacturers to keep up with inflation.

“I had this ‘stuff’ shut down, but here we go again!” Trump wrote in his statement. “An otherwise great company, one which my company does a great deal of business with, John Deere, will moving a large part of its Tractor and Cab Assembly Operations facility in wonderful Waterloo, Iowa, to Mexico by 2024 (right before the Presidential Election).”

Since Biden took office in January 2021, prices of goods and manufacturing have skyrocketed across the country. According to a recent AAA National Average report, the average cost of gas, for example, has jumped from a nationwide average of $2.39 per gallon in January 2021 to an average of $4.81 per gallon in April 2022.

John Deere’s decision to move part of their operations to Mexico signals an increasingly hostile domestic economy for American manufacturers and workers getting crushed under the weight of staggering inflation.

President Trump added, “I would not have allowed this to happen without serious recrimination.”
