President Donald Trump rolled out a fun new catchphrase Wednesday night as he helped Kid Rock open his Bad Reputation Tour in Evansville, Indiana.
In a pre-recorded video, Trump addressed the crowd at the event, calling them “the true backbone of our great country” and “hardworking, God-fearing, rock-and-roll patriots.”
The 45th president praised Rock, whose real name is Bob Ritchie, as “one of the greatest entertainers of our time,” although noting the musician’s golf game “could use a little work.”
Finally, to the crowd’s delight, Trump concluded his remarks by stating, “Let’s all continue to love one another, fight for our God-given freedoms, and most of all, let’s Make America Rock Again!”
Trump then pulled out one of his signature red caps, bearing the revised slogan, and placed it on his head.
Per Billboard, Rock has been a vocal supporter of Trump, having visited him at the White House in 2017 and golfed with the president on various occasions. That support has also transferred to Rock’s music, with the singer’s recent release of a song called “We The People,” which incorporates the popular conservative chant “Let’s Go Brandon” into its chorus.
In an interview with Tucker Carlson, Rock explained his support for Trump, stating: “How sharp he is, it’s incredible. And you can see now if you watch a Joe Biden interview and you watch a Trump interview…there’s no comparison.”
Adding that he admired Trump’s unscripted approach to interviews and speaking engagements, Rock also noted that, in Hollywood, there are many “closet Trump fans” who are afraid to speak out about their views.
“The vocal ones, sure – you know who they are, you see ’em,” he said, “but (people) have no idea how many of us there are.”
Rock’s Bad Reputation Tour is scheduled to continue its run across the country through Oct. 8.
