In a Wednesday morning Truth Social post, President Donald Trump urged law enforcement to investigate reports of cheating in Pennsylvania’s early voting.
“Pennsylvania is cheating, and getting caught, at large scale levels rarely seen before. REPORT CHEATING TO AUTHORITIES. Law Enforcement must act, NOW!” the 45th president wrote.
The Commonwealth has been under a microscope since Lancaster County officials announced on Oct. 25 that 2,500 suspicious voter registration applications were delivered to the county’s election office just before the registration deadline.
Some applications had fake names, incorrect addresses and suspicious signatures, while others appeared to have been filled out by the same person.
During a press briefing about the apparent “organized effort,” Lancaster County District Attorney Heather Adams revealed that two other unnamed Pennsylvania counties had “received similar applications.”
On Monday, Trump drew attention to York County, Pennsylvania, which was identified as one of the other counties to receive the potentially fake registrations.
“Wow! York County, Pennsylvania, received THOUSANDS of potentially FRAUDULENT Voter Registration Forms and Mail-In Ballot Applications from a third party group. This is on top of Lancaster County being caught with 2600 Fake Ballots and Forms, all written by the same person. Really bad “stuff.” WHAT IS GOING ON IN PENNSYLVANIA??? Law Enforcement must do their job, immediately!!! WOW!!!” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
York County is investigating and will “prosecute any cases where the evidence is sufficient to support a conviction,” according to a statement released last week from the district attorney’s office.
Lancaster County Commissioner Josh Parsons recently said that Monroe and Cambria counties have also expressed concerns about receiving fake registrations.
“It does appear that either this operation or similar operations were active in other counties. And the checks should work if staff are doing it, but staff in a lot of these counties are under a lot of pressure to get these registrations in quickly,” Parsons said.
Meanwhile, early voters in Pennsylvania have begun posting grievances on social media after one voting location in Quakertown was shut down early for unknown reasons.
Republican National Committee co-chair Lara Trump encouraged voters to stand strong while waiting to cast their votes.
“ATTENTION PENNSYLVANIA: If you are turning in your ballot EARLY in today, DO NOT GET OUT OF LINE! Every person has a right to cast their vote and no one should make you leave! SPREAD THE WORD,” she wrote on Tuesday afternoon.
