Just one day ahead of a white-knuckled governor’s race in Virginia that’s pitting Trump-endorsed Republican candidate Glenn Youngkin against Democrat frontrunner Terry McAuliffe, President Trump has called Virginia’s elections into question.
“…I am not a believer in the integrity of Virginia’s elections, lots of bad things went on, and are going on,” he said. “The way you beat it is to flood the system and get out and vote.”
Trump’s newest statement comes just after a Virginia judge dismissed a lawsuit regarding election integrity in the state, in which Fairfax County was accused of improperly accepting applications on absentee ballots. In the lawsuit, the Virginia Institute for Public Policy argued that the Fairfax County Office of Elections accepted absentee-ballot applications without including voters’ last four digits of their Social Security number, which is required by Virginia state law.
However, the lawsuit was thrown out the window, with Judge Michael Devine ruling that the Virginia Institute for Public Policy was not, as is also required by state law, an aggrieved voter or candidate, thus concluding that there was no standing for filing the lawsuit.
The dismissal of the lawsuit brings to question the security of Virginia’s state elections, especially in light of the staggering 2020 presidential election fraud being reported in battleground states across the country, like Arizona, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Georgia.
Many supporters of President Trump and conservative voters in Virginia are likely wondering if their vote will count, and Trump appears to be well aware of how his base is feeling. “I say to all of our millions of followers,” he encouraged, “don’t listen to the Fake News and misleading advertisements written largely by already-acknowledged perverts. Get out and vote for a man who will be a great governor, Glenn Youngkin!
Trump also decried the “Fake News” media’s attempts to spin stories that Glenn Youngkin and Trump are “at odds” with each other going into the Virginia race: “The reason the Fake News and perverts are working over time is to try and convince people that we do not like each other, and therefore, my great and unprecedented Make America Great Again base will not show up to vote.”
A potential Republican victory in Virginia would also mean victory for President Trump who is fighting hard for the GOP base by endorsing conservative candidates who will protect conservative voters’ individual rights and liberties in light of Joe Biden’s federal vaccine mandates and economic chaos.
President Trump encouraged Virginia voters one more time before the election tomorrow, pushing hard for conservatives to get out and flood the polls:
“Hopefully everyone will get out and VOTE tomorrow for Glenn Youngkin, who will be a fantastic Governor for the Great State of Virginia… Everything is on the line in this election, and every MAGA voter should strongly support Glenn Youngkin. We must win bigger than the margin of fraud by flooding the polls with those that believe in America First. Please vote on Tuesday for Glenn Youngkin—he will not let you down!”
No matter what happens with this election, Virginia – and the country – will be watching closely. Reports of election fraud have made conservative and moderate voters alike uneasy, raising the stakes for Glenn Youngkin’s victory a little higher for proponents of election integrity.
