White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles denied reports Friday that she plans to step down following the November midterm elections, calling the claims a “piece of fiction.”

Wiles issued the rare public response after the Daily Mail published a report alleging tensions between her and President Donald Trump had prompted her to consider leaving the administration.

“To be crystal clear, I am not going anywhere,” Wiles wrote in a post on X. “I am honored and proud to serve President Trump, proud of our team and remain fully committed to advancing his agenda on behalf of the American people.”

She also criticized media outlets for what she described as repeated efforts to create narratives of internal conflict around Trump’s political operation.

“They were wrong then, and they are wrong now,” Wiles wrote. “See you Monday.”

The Daily Mail report cited unnamed sources claiming Wiles opposed President Trump’s selection of Florida real estate executive Bill Pulte as acting director of national intelligence and suggested he had become frustrated with Wiles’ management approach.

Wiles denied those allegations in comments to the publication, calling suggestions that she opposed the president’s appointments “completely false and defamatory.”

“Trump selects the best people for his Administration and we all work together to advance his agenda,” she said.

She also publicly praised Pulte, saying she believed he would bring “energy and tenacity” to the intelligence role after observing his work leading the Federal Housing Finance Agency.

Wiles has been one of President Trump’s closest political advisers for years. She joined his first presidential campaign in 2015 as Florida co-chair and later served as chief executive officer of his Save America PAC from 2019 through 2024.

She eventually became co-campaign manager during Trump’s successful 2024 presidential campaign before being appointed White House chief of staff.

Earlier this year, Wiles revealed she had been diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer.

“Nearly one in eight women in the United States will face this diagnosis,” she said at the time. “Every day, these women continue to raise their families, go to work, and serve their communities with strength and determination. I now join their ranks.”
