President Trump is gaining strength in some of the toughest battleground states ahead of the November 2024 general election, including in the great state of Wisconsin.
Trump, who will hold a signature rally in Wisconsin on Tuesday night, has already locked up the Republican primary nomination and is now narrowing his focus to the upcoming battle against Joe Biden this fall.
According to Emerson College/The Hill, Trump is holding a narrow but solid lead in Wisconsin, putting him four points ahead of Biden in a hypothetical general election. Polls have varied slightly, with Morning Consult/Bloomberg illustrating a three-point lead that also included Independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
Wisconsin has historically been a “blue wall” of Democrat strength since 1988 until Trump flipped the state red in 2016 when he won there against then-Democrat presidential nominee Hillary Clinton.
Now, Wisconsin seems to be leaning back toward favoring a Republican candidate like Trump in the face of Joe Biden’s waning popularity with American voters amid economic chaos and encroaching global unrest.
Nationwide, Trump is in a powerful position, edging out Biden and RFK Jr. with a three-point lead, via new data from the Trafalgar Group. Although polls fluctuate and change weekly, Trump has maintained a steady lead on the national stage for months, preceding his landslide Republican nomination win.
Trump is also polling ahead of Biden in a head-to-head matchup in a poll from J.L. Partners/Daily Mail. In a hypothetical competition against former First Lady Michelle Obama, Trump polls with a three-point lead nationwide, as well.
