President Donald J. Trump’s first State of the Union address was more popular with viewers across America than Biden’s first address to a joint session of Congress, based on newly released Nielsen ratings.
According to a report from Just the News, Biden’s first address to the nation was seven million viewers less than Trump’s in 2018. Additionally, Biden netted around 27 million views for his State of the Union address on Tuesday, while President Trump’s 2017 address garnered 47.7 million.
Biden’s considerably lower ratings come as no surprise to most Americans who have been forced to bear the burden of Biden’s failed legislative policies. Since Biden took office in 2021, the U.S. has been plagued with multiple economic and military woes, ranging from intense, record-level hyperinflation and a badly botched withdrawal from Afghanistan last year, resulting in the deaths of 13 American soldiers.
As previously reported by RSBN, Biden’s State of the Union address attempted to present Americans with a rosy picture of current events, while failing to address soaring oil prices, the devastating effects of vaccine mandates on unemployment rates, crime rate increases across the country, a supply chain shortage, and a chaotic and unsecured southern border crisis.
Additionally, as a war in Eastern Europe has broken out between Russia and Ukraine, many Americans are beginning to realize that the leadership in the White House is absent at best.
RSBN previously reported that a recent poll from the Harvard Center for American Political Statistics revealed 62 percent of Americans believe that if President Trump were still in office, Russian President Vladimir Putin would not have launched a military invasion of Ukraine. This poll suggests that Americans are intrinsically aware of Biden’s marked inability to command the respect of major European nations like Russia.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, Joe Biden’s approval ratings have plummeted, with a new Civiqs research poll revealing that Joe Biden is barely holding onto a slim 35 percent approval rating after only one year in office.
With numbers like these, it’s no surprise that Joe Biden’s first address to the nation was a ratings disaster.
