President Donald Trump leads Vice President Kamala Harris by 5 percentage points in the 2024 presidential race nationwide, according to a Rasmussen poll on Thursday.
Trump holds a 49-44 percent advantage, with other candidates ranking at 4 percent and 3 percent undecided.
Mark Mitchell, head pollster for Rasmussen Reports, also noted that the survey is the only major poll released in the past two weeks based on Harris as the Democratic running mate.
“So wait! Kamala Harris has been the new candidate for just over 2 weeks… And we’re the only firm that released any data this week collected since Sunday!?” he stated on X.
Mitchell cited rankings at RealClearPolitics that revealed the dates of other recent polls have been shifted to provide Harris an advantage. The vice president ranks +0.5 percent ahead of Trump in the overall numbers in the combined polls.
The details in the latest Rasmussen study also noted that Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s support continues to decline. In a six-way matchup including Kennedy, Cornell West (Independent), Chase Oliver (Libertarian Party) and Jill Stein (Green Party), Kennedy ranked at just 3 percent.
Before Biden dropped out, Kennedy ranked at 8 percent.
The rankings between Trump and Harris are nearly unchanged from the previous week’s poll that marked the second survey since President Joe Biden announced an end to his reelection campaign.
Trump’s popularity is also growing among new Americans. A recent livestream with Adin Ross showed the enormous attention among young voters.
“Wow!!! Adin Ross Interview yesterday EXPLODED, but in a very positive way! Platform set an all time record, by far, with over 100 MILLION Views/Hits. Congratulations to Adin and his wonderful mother, father, and family, who I had the pleasure to meet. Thank you also to Barron Trump for the introduction to your friend, Adin. Young people are the future of America. THOSE NUMBERS ARE REALLY BIG ‘STUFF!’” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
As RSBN previously reported, Ross reached over 580,000 viewers during the livestream, not including the viral reach of the interview and moments from it following the live event. Trump stated that his sons introduced the idea to him of holding the event with Ross, noting the streamer’s influence, according to NBC News.
