Former Fox News host Tucker Carlson confirmed, through a post on X, that he will be interviewing former President Trump on Wednesday night as the first GOP debate is set to take place.

“Whatever you think of Trump, he is, as of tonight, the indisputable far and away frontrunner in the Republican race. We think voters have an interest in hearing what he thinks,” Tucker said.

Carlson’s ad comes after Trump released a statement early Wednesday on Truth Social, stating, “MY INTERVIEW WITH TUCKER CARLSON WILL BE AIRED TONIGHT AT 9:00 P.M.”

Carlson released his new show on X in June after being fired from Fox News allegedly for the Dominion Voting Systems case the company had settled, according to The Guardian.

Since leaving, Carlson has amassed millions of views on each video released. Hence the former Fox host made a point in his promotion video to state that Trump reached out to have a conversation for a “far larger audience.”

“So when Trump approached us about having a conservation for a far larger audience than he’d receive on cable news, we happily accepted,” Carlson said.

The interview will be released on X airing at 8:55 p.m. ET.
