Twitter suspended political commentator Dave Rubin’s account Tuesday after he spoke out against the suspension of clinical psychologist Jordan Peterson.

Rubin issued a statement on Instagram announcing to his thousands of followers that he had been suspended by the Big Tech giant for “posting a screenshot of Jordan Peterson’s tweet which got he himself suspended.”

“While it is unclear how I broke their terms of service, it is clear that they are breaking their fiduciary responsibility to their shareholders by letting a bunch of Woke activists run the company,” said Rubin. The political commentator added that he hopes Elon Musk’s Twitter purchase “goes through so he can blow up their servers and humanity can move past this pervasive, twisted, self-imposed mental institution.”

Conservative pundit Ben Shapiro broke the news on Twitter, sharing Rubin’s tweet about actress Ellen Page, who now goes by Elliot, that caused Twitter to take down Rubin’s account.

In his original tweet, Rubin called out the tech giant after suspending Peterson’s account for his comments about Page last week.

Peterson made a post saying, “Remember when pride was a sin? And Ellen Page just had her breasts removed by a criminal physician.” Twitter reportedly suspended Peterson for “violating our rules against hateful conduct,” per Fox News.

Peterson claimed that he was “essentially” banned from the platform because he would have to delete the tweet before returning to Twitter, an action that he “would rather die than do.”

“I have essentially been banned from Twitter as a consequence,” Peterson said via the Daily Wire. “I say banned, although technically I have been suspended. But the suspension will not be lifted unless I delete the ‘hateful’ tweet in question, and I would rather die than do that.”

Following Peterson’s suspension, Rubin slammed Twitter, saying, “The insanity continues at Twitter. @jordanbpeterson has been suspended for this tweet about Ellen Page,” causing the tech giant to flag his tweet as “hateful conduct” and suspend his account.

Rubin and Peterson are among the myriad users the tech giant has targeted. Users have long speculated that Twitter targets conservative voices and suppresses freedom of speech. However, the theory seemed to be confirmed when Twitter Sr. Engineer Siru Murugesan, told an undercover Project Veritas journalist that “Twitter does not believe in free speech,” as previously reported.
